Posted to the GTA Forum 7/26/2007 Subject: CFX gets Air Gun Toys Bling So, I come home today and open up my mail box and I was delighted to find a compact package from Air Gun Toys in SC. Gene and I had talked about a brake for my .177 CFX and I finally decided on what design I wanted him to craft for me. I wanted a satin black finish, ported brake. Gene had asked me what port configuration I wanted, I asked him to be creative........ I was very pleased with the product delivered. Well crafted and obvoiusly carefully machined from aluminum stock. The port configuration is very pleasing, increasing diameter ports from the back to the front. It is ported in three identical rows, both sides and on top. The ports are chamfered at the edges. The muzzle face of the brake is nicely recessed. Installation was a snap. It took longer to get plastic Gamo brake off the gun. The Gamo brake removes by taking out the allen grub screw, it has to be completely removed, not just loosened. There is a set pin under the very forward, lower edge that has to be drifted out from right to left. Then slide the outer cover back on the barrel, tap off the inner portion of the brake and slide the outer cover off the barrel. The Air Gun Toys brake slid right on the barrel, tightened up the included allen grub screw and off to sight it in. POI did change, and I expected this. Differences in barrel harmonics when adding or removing any barrel mounted accessory are to be expected. Didn't take me long to get it back to zero and it's back to ragged one hole groups at 10m. I am very pleased with the brake, particularly with what it does for the asthetics of the gun. Much sleeker, more purposeful. The pics below are not the best of quality and don't do it justice. much. I love it. The Howard Posted to the GTA Forum
I was up at John's place shooting last
weekend and saw the QB with the Shroud on it... it's a thing of
beauty. John, you need to get dome pics of it on here to show off a
bit. When I get my QB, I'll be needing one of those on it too, it
looks so much more like a "serious" rifle with it on. Roald
